Sure, internet marketing is needed, but it could alwaus be phase two for a small company.
Flash animation would also cause web pricing to go up. If you don't need it, don't get it. If you have a product or invention that you need to display, then maybe flash would work.
You also get what you pay for, if you hire your guy or girl friend who is going to create the site fo you for $200 dollars, dont expect to happy with the results.
