Website costs and pricing

| | Comments (0)

Web pricing can vary greatly and it is the number one question that we are asked.  Web pricing is definately a topic of interest with new businesses looking to get on the internet.

So, what is the cost of a website?  We like to say that web design prices are just like automobile prices.  You can buy a Geo which has no features, you could pruchase a SUV which is rugged and able to do something a Geo cant do, or you could purchase a flash lamburgini.  There is a huge price differeente in all of those cars.  Now, you can purchase a Geo and add on features to it.  A website is the samw way.  You can purchase a $500 website and add on to it in phases,  or you can purchase a $2000 website with some upgrades.

Website estimates run from $1500 and $1800 for the aveage website cost.  This pricing would be for a small business that just starting out.  Those two web price estimages would not include any marketing, search engine optimization, or advanced programming.  We also have new plans that start out at $250 and then include a higher webhosting for the website.  We basically have website financing, wihout a credit check,

So how does our web pricing compare to other local companies?  There is a big range.  You can find websites here in Knoxville starting at $10,000 minimum.  We also have sites that go into that range, but we only go that high or higher if our cleints need it.  There is no need for a new company to spend $10,000 on a web site unless they need it.

How does web pricing compare to companies outside of Knoxville?  Again, web estimates can be all over the board.  We just consulted with a large real estate company in town who spent $40,000 on a website in one year and were not happy.  They were with a company out of Georgia.

We feel our price are fair and we try to be fair with our clients up front.  If you need a $10,000 system we will let you know.

There are always variables.  Search Engine Optimization can get expensive if you have a large website, but the payback in traffic can be enormous.  Look at it this way:  if you can budget out $1500 for search engine optimization, would you be ok if that $1500 you put out turned into $20,000 in new business?  We would suggest to do that all day.  Sure, internet marketing is needed, but it could alwaus be phase two for a small company.

Flash animation would also cause web pricing to go up.  If you don't need it, don't get it.  If you have a product or invention that you need to display, then maybe flash would work.

You also get what you pay for, if you hire your guy or girl friend who is going to create the site fo you for $200 dollars, dont expect to happy with the results.

To receive accurate website pricing, we suggest to meet with whomever you will be working with and discuss your project in detail.  You may not know what you need or what do do to get started, but meeting will clear all of that up
